A PARTNERSHIP between Chichester College and St Richard’s Hospital is a match made in heaven.
The college has given its backing to St Richard’s charity Love Your Hospital, and wants to help in a host of ways.
The college has already raised £500 for the charity with its staff barbecue – but aims to organise a variety of events and activities in the next year, with the help of students.
The college will be fundraising for the neo-natal unit at St Richard’s Hospital, for items like monitors and other equipment needed in the department.
Lisa Humphries, student experience manager, said: “We were looking for more opportunities for our students to volunteer in their local community.
“We want students to organise events and volunteer in the neo-natal unit.”
Principal of the college Shelagh Legrave said students studying health and social care courses would be encouraged to get involved with volunteering at the hospital.
Nicola Godwin from Love Your Hospital presented Mrs Legrave with a medal on Tuesday, to thank the college for its support.
The Love Your Hospital charity covers the cost of items needed in the hospital which are not funded by the NHS.
Recently, fans were donated to the children’s ward by a number of local businesses.
