FINDING the right career has been the focus of an exciting week for students.

Pupils at Felpham Community College have been busy with a week of activities in recognition of National Careers Week.

Ex-student Jess Brown gave an inspirational talk about her journey since leaving school and how she has become a full-time athlete with the ambition of Olympic selection for 2020 for the senior rowing team.

Gill Woodman, Felpham’s careers coordinator said: “It has been a busy and productive week and it has been fantastic that so many students have got involved.

“It has been good to have a wide range of jobs discussed including the Royal Navy, teaching, social work, solicitors, business entrepreneurs and careers working with people with learning disabilities.

“It was also great to have some ex-students back to talk about life after Felpham and see how they have grown into successful young adults.”

Students from all year groups participated in the events, which included talks and question and answer sessions and it was a great chance to find out how different people chose to follow their ambitions.
