CAMPERS could be pitching their tents next to a pub.
A touring camping site has been proposed on land behind the Prince of Wales pub in Woodgate.
Joe Wheal has applied to Arun District Council to change the use of the site on the A29 Lidsey Road. The proposal is for eight touring/ camping pitches for standard tents and four super pitches for camper vans.
It is intended to use the site between April and September each year.
Planning agent Leeza Aldis-Hobbs said in a statement with the application: “The site is an open field, unused for several years, in an area of semi-rural character with houses built either side of the A29.
“Within the site of the Prince of Wales public house, and close to a convenience store, it is an ideal touring site.”
She said the change complies with national planning policies.
