Changes beef up chamber’s voice for Bognor Regis

A SERIES of changes has strengthened the executive committee of Bognor Regis Chamber of Commerce.

Former town mayor Sandra Daniells has become the business group’s honorary secretary.

Business owner Anton Matthews has also been included on the committee.

The chamber’s president and chairman, Nick Stuart-Nicolson, remains alongside the vice-chairman, Ian Harding.

Mr Stuart-Nicolson said: “In view of the current economic climate, I felt we should better serve our members with an executive committee made up of some of the ‘big guns’ of our local community.

“The chamber continues to concern itself with all relevant local matters.

“In particular, this is the proposed – although stalled – regeneration of our town, seafront strategy, the proposed new commercial developments, our roads and infrastructure and the survival of our town centre.”

Stephanie Bayley, the chamber’s previous secretary, has stayed on the committee. Its other members are treasurer Pam Knight, deputy town mayor and town-centre shopowner Paul Wells, past town mayors Jim Brooks and Jeanette Warr and Jim Shephard who deals with the Shopwatch and Pubwatch schemes around Bognor.
