Burglar disturbed by homeowner in Bognor Regis

POLICE are appealing for witnesses after a homeowner disturbed a burglar in Bognor Regis.

The Linden Road resident heard the suspect force the back door open and break the glass in the door at 1.45pm on Friday, August 15.

After realising someone was home the suspect ran away. Nothing is believed to have been taken.

Detective Constable Gavin Percival said: “The occupant said someone rang the doorbell shortly before he heard the glass breaking and loud footsteps.

“We are hoping someone in the area might have seen who called at the door or the person at the door may have seen someone trying to break into the house.

“The suspect is described as a large built man wearing a black hooded top with black trousers and boots.”
