A BRAINY bunch have proved they are top of the care homes after scooping a quiz accolade.
The winners of the inter-home Big Trophy quiz have been announced as Bognor’s very own Aronel Cottage.
The first-time winners put in an impressive show and managed to pip their nearest competition to the post by one point.
First place Aronel Cottage gained 115 points, Byway House, Middleton, were in second place with 114 and Aldwick’s Royal Bay Retirement home took third place with 110 points.
The competition, which involves 25 homes from across the Bognor and Chichester areas, was organised by Sharon Martin of Activities With Sharon.
She said: “It really was a lot of fun.
“It was a good, friendly competition and the teams really enjoyed it.”
The quiz involved eight rounds and the picture round especially proved fun – it was a puzzling connection, but all residents managed to unravel it. Sharon said Aronel’s John Ainger made it look like a walk in the park.
“Sadly Barbara Evans passed away and missed this event which she not only enjoyed immensely, but was an excellent contender,” said Sharon.
