TWO sets of brothers and sisters started to unveil the largest advent calendar Bognor Regis has seen.

Theo and Megan Belcher and Caitlin and Toby Seymour unwrapped the first shop window in the unique seasonal attraction.

They unveiled a delightful festive scene at Craft and Hobbies in the High Street on Monday, December 1.

Another 14 shopfronts have been lined up around the town centre by its manager, Toyubur Rahman, for the countdown to Christmas.

Downview Primary School pupils Theo, six, Megan, eight and Caitlin, ten, and six-year-old Toby, of Edward Bryant Primary School, enjoyed removing the wrapping.

Caitlin said: “It was exciting to unwrap the window for my few seconds of fame. The window is pretty. I like the angels.”

Also included in the display are mice made by the shop’s knitting group, to be sold for St Wilfrid’s Hospice, ice skaters and pie and hot chestnut sellers.

Shop owner Sarah McLachlan said: “The advent calendar is a brilliant idea.

“Anything to help the town has to be good.”

Mr Rahman said: “This is a little bit of fun before Christmas. Children will unwrap the windows to see the hard work of the business owners. Not many children get to do that.”

National and local businesses are taking part.
