MORE household names than ever have been heading to Butlin’s in Bognor Regis.
The holiday company’s flagship conference destination has hosted a record number of meetings and events.
The team in the conference facilities hosted 122 occasions last year. Of these, 35 were day visits and 87 residential stays.
This staggering 43 per cent increase on the previous year involved a host of new clients. These ranged from the insurance, banking, retail, automotive and hospitality sectors.
The companies included global beauty brand Elizabeth Arden, high street favourite New Look and leading pub and brewing company Greene King.
Simon Jones, the national sales manager at Butlin’s conference and events, said: “We are delighted with the success of Butlin’s conference and events over the past 24 months.
“Our year on year growth demonstrates the brand’s strength in an ever-evolving marketplace and the enduring appeal of our resort offering.”
The new year also promised to be an equally rewarding year, he said.
The success of the Bognor conference work has played a big part in the national increase in events business for Butlin’s last year.
This recorded an impressive 19 per cent growth on top of the 22 per cent rise in 2013.
The increase in revenue has been attributed to the extensive availability and interest of exclusive hire across all three Butlin’s sites - Bognor, Minehead and Skegness - from November until March.
As well as exclusive resort hire, more than 80 per cent of bookings last year were made for the bespoke packages compiled by the Butlin’s staff.
Butlin’s conference and events’ marketing manager Kelly McGann said: “Butlin’s is an iconic brand with an integral set of core values.
“Throughout 2014, we have worked to develop the conference and events strategy to ensure these principles are aligned across the company.
“With a brand new strategy in place and an enticing new brochure soon to be released, we are in a great place to kickstart 2014.”
