TWO men from Bognor are the latest to be charged with allegedly driving drunk as part of Sussex Police’s summer crackdown on the crime.
Leon Odell, 47, was arrested at 6.45pm on Monday (June 22), in Parkfield Avenue, Bognor Regis, after police were tipped off about a suspected drink-driver in the area.
Mr Odell, of Parkfield Avenue, was charged with drink-driving and released on bail to appear at Worthing Magistrates’ Court on July 9.
Gary Reeves, 57, was arrested at 6am on yesterday (Tuesday, June 23) after police stopped his car in Bognor.
Mr Reeves, of Lane End Road, was charged with drink-driving and released on bail to appear at Worthing Magistrates’ Court on July 9.
A total of 86 people have so far been charged with offences during Sussex Police’s June drink and drug-driving operation.
As part of Operation Dragonfly, road policing unit officers are on dedicated patrols looking for offenders.
Teams are responding to tip-offs from members of the public who see someone they know has been drinking getting into a car to drive.
