A BIRTHDAY bash was the first celebration to held at the newest community centre in Bognor Regis.

Jenny Jones marked her 75th birthday in style on August 25, at Jeneses – the former united reform church in Linden Road.

Mrs Jones and her husband Barry, who live in Victoria Drive, purchased the building, which had been empty for two years, in July for £300,000.

The couple hope the venue, a church with four linked halls of varying sizes, will become a vibrant and thriving community centre for the town.

They want as many people as possible to benefit from the facility, and would like to see it used for a wide range of social and creative purposes.

Local groups and societies are already taking advantage of the new space.

Mrs Jones’ party was attended by family and friends enjoyed party food, an impressive cake and the odd party game.
