A PROPOSED extension will make Barnham’s biggest store even bigger.
Barnham Trading Post’s owners want to demolish a neighbouring building to expand their business.
They have applied for planning approval from Arun District Council for the work at their site on Barnham Road. The work will see the Barnham Trading Post increase by 380 sq m to 1,970 sq m.
A statement with the company’s planning application says: “The proposal comprises the demolition of an old-style detached building of 800 sq m, presently occupied by Outside Interests. The extension is to be constructed to the front of the existing property and provides a gable end to the structure fronting on to the highway.”
The proposed extension will be a single-storey steel frame building. More jobs will be created by the plan.
They will increase from 40 full and part-time staff to 50.
