'Vibrant new installations' from the Business Improvement District (BID) and the town council were put up in the town centre over the weekend. A spokesperson for Bognor Regis BID said: "This festive season, Bognor Regis town centre is brighter than ever before. The town’s Christmas lights scheme and new installations are now illuminated, adding sparkling cheer to the streets in and around the main shopping precinct." There are lights and projections to be found in all areas of the town centre, including the BID’s giant illuminated bauble at the train

station, which is 'attracting a lot of attention'. A 6ft tall illuminated angel, plus 20 foot Christmas tree 'shine the way to the Heritage Quarter', and a large-scale snowflake projection is 'attracting people to the eastern end of High Street'. The spokesperson added: "The BID’s garland archways and central bauble complement ADC’s lighting scheme, adding to the Victorian charm of The Arcade, and the Elf House at the corner of High Street and London Road adds to the atmosphere created by the town council’s new video projection. The extension of the lighting scheme on Queensway means the illuminations now run along all of the canopies." BID chairman, Jason Passingham, said he doesn't remember the town 'ever looking so festive', adding: "This year we all really need a little bit of extra light in our lives. The great thing about the installations is that they can all be enjoyed whilst following the Covid-19 restrictions, and it’s been amazing seeing people coming out in the afternoons and evenings to take photographs and soak up the atmosphere whilst doing their essential shopping or as part of their daily exercise. We’re all looking forward to the reopening of shops and services this week, which will bring even more life to the town centre. We really thank everyone that has chosen to shop locally during the latest restrictions using click and collect, or delayed their Christmas shopping until their favourite local stores reopen.
