25 pictures showing how Chichester district celebrated Prince William and Kate Middleton’s wedding 10 years ago

Children across the area swapped school uniforms for shades of red, white and blue on April 29, 2011, as the royal wedding of Prince William and Kate Middleton was celebrated with street parties and special lunches. Union Flags fluttered in the breeze as pupils took part in a variety of activities, including decorating their own commemorative wedding plates and making keyrings.

Some children spent the morning drawing designs of what they thought Kate’s wedding dress would look like and others were lucky enough to be presented with a commemorative mug. There was a carnival atmosphere as excited children enjoyed their celebrations in glorious sunshine, weather fit for a king and queen.
