Felpham Community College GCSE results in after 'unbelievably hard work'

Felpham Community College results reflect the hard work of students over the last two years, the college's headteacher has said.

The year 11s, ably supported by their specialist teachers and the school’s governors, have been rewarded for their hard work and commitment in this unique and unusual school year.

A large proportion of the year 11 students exceeded expectations and there were a number of exceptional results:

— Charlie Allen-Joy: three grade 9s, two grade 8s and one grade 7

— Benjamin Fox: seven grade 9s and two grade 8s

— Matilda Hill: six grade 9s and three grade 8s

— Alexander Kissell: seven grade 9s and three grade 8s

— Antoana Micheva: six grade 9s and one grade 8

— Carol Thompson: three grade 9s and six grade 8s

Mark Anstiss, headteacher, said: "We are very pleased with all of our students’ achievements today. Obtaining these results takes hard work, the current situation has meant that this has been a stressful time for the students and we are very proud of them and their awarded grades year.

"It is important to remember that these results reflect two years of hard work, perseverance and commitment of both the students and the teachers.

"These great results provide our students with an opportunity to access our academic sixth form and provide a firm foundation for university or work in the future. Staff and students have worked unbelievably hard.

"I would also like to thank our parents and the school governors for their support and commitment to our school inthese unprecedented times.

"In a time of real turbulence in the examination system, with a very wide range of qualifications being taken, it is very pleasing that our students have done so well."
