A new dining experience for Barnham students
Students at a Barnham school could soon be experiencing a new dining experience.
Plans to install an aluminium framed, glazed canopy to a courtyard to increase dining room space have been approved for St Philip Howard School in Elm Grove South.
Arun District Council agreed the building of a 4m high canopy which is 11m long and 9.7m wide.
The school said: “The school site abuts residential properties to the north and east.
“However, the proposed canopy is to be located within an enclosed courtyard that cannot be seen from neighbouring properties as it is completely hidden by the surrounding high rise buildings.
“The additional floor space will allow for an increased capacity and a better dining experience for pupils at the school.”
There were no objections to the plans.
