George and wife and business partner Angelina have opened a new coffee shop, Not Just Coffee, housing Mitchell’s Travel Ltd within the premises in London Road.

The transformed venue, which was formerly a Thomas Cook HQ, allows customers to enjoy coffee and cake while perusing potential holiday destinations.

The opening came on the day when a change in hospitality restrictions meant pubs, restaurants, cafés and bars were allowed to host parties of up to six, or of two households, in outdoor areas.

And the launch coincided with the resumption of domestic holidays, with overnight stays allowed and self-catering accommodation reopening. The travel industry awaits further news on foreign holidays and George says this will boost business given just how eager clients are to get away.

George said: “It’s really exciting to bring our brand to the high street – up until now we have been an online business. Obviously, the pandemic has massively impacted our trade but we have been very resilient and are ready to go again.

“The new venture combines a coffee shop with our travel business and to have the two under one roof is ideal.

“We believe in Bognor and very much hope that this can restore some faith back into the town after what has been a difficult period for everyone because of the lockdown.

“We want to see businesses flourish again and we have certainly seen a keen interest so far with our takeaway service proving very popular.

“Travel is only going to increase once Government decides we can safely go abroad once again but we are also really busy with customers desperate to get away in the UK; staycations are booming and trade in all holidays will only grow as restrictions continue to be lifted further.”
