Felpham pub confirms closure with 'deep regret'
A pub in Felpham has confirmed its closure with 'heavy hearts'.
After 14 years of serving customers, The Fox Inn, based in Waterloo Road, Felpham Village, will close down after the management team was unable to secure terms for a new lease.
A statement on the pub's Facebook page this morning (Friday, September 11), read: "Unfortunately we can confirm The Fox will be closing shortly.
"It is with heavy hearts and deep regret that we have been unable to secure terms for a new lease that will make running The Fox commercially viable as a tied business particularly in these challenging times ahead.
"We would like to thank all our customers and staff for your supported us over the past 14 years.
"We have meet some wonderful people over the years, many of which we now call friends and had the honour of working with a great team of staff who we consider family."
A message from the Editor, Gary Shipton:
In order for us to continue to provide high quality and trusted local news, I am asking you to please purchase a copy of our newspapers.
With the coronavirus lockdown having a major impact on many of our local valued advertisers - and consequently the advertising that we receive - we are more reliant than ever on you helping us to provide you with news and information by buying a copy of our newspapers.
Our journalists are highly trained and our content is independently regulated by IPSO to some of the most rigorous standards in the world. But being your eyes and ears comes at a price. So we need your support more than ever to buy our newspapers during this crisis.
Stay safe, and best wishes.
