Those were the words of Alix Harvey, assistant general manager at The Gym Group, which has opened its newest site in Chichester.

The 24-hour gym, which is replacing the old Lidl supermarket at Portfield Way, has created 16 new jobs.

It boasts an array of state-of-the-art equipment, including cardio and weight machines and a weights area.

“We are super excited to have opened our new site for you this morning,” Alix said. “We’ve had a great turnout.

“We’re looking forward to welcoming our new members and showing the brilliant facilities were have to offer.

“We are big on our functional fitness. We offer a space for you to do whatever you like and have a brilliant team of personal trainers that will run classes throughout the week.”

Alix said gyms are ‘probably more important’ now ‘than they ever were’, as we continue to ease out of the latest Covid-19 lockdown.

He added: “It is vital people stay fit and healthy, both physically and mentally.

“We hope we can help people bounce back to a new normal life.

“It’s a great opportunity. Our memberships are flexibile, with no contracts involved.

“We pride ourselves on the fact it’s fitness for all, so everyone can afford it.

“Come and have a look and have a chat with one of our personal trainers. If you have any questions, they can guide you from the get go.”
