FIREFIGHTERS spent three hours at Durrington Cemetery today (Wednesday, August 20) putting out a blaze in a workman's shed.
The fire broke out at around 4.30am and three crews from Worthing rushed to the scene to douse the flames.
The workman's tool shed, around eight by five metres in size, was totally destroyed.
A fire investigation officer has inspected the wreckage and said he believed the fire was started deliberately.
None of the graves were affected by the blaze.
Fire crews have now handed the matter over to Worthing Borough Council, the shed owners.
