Woman dies on East Worthing railway line

A WOMAN died after being electrocuted and hit by a train at East Worthing railway station.
The incident happened at around 6.14am on Saturday (October 11), when a 29-year-old woman from Worthing was struck by the 6.01am service from Brighton to Portsmouth Harbour.

British Transport Police said the death was not being treated as suspicious.

The line was closed and a bus service was laid on between West Worthing and Brighton until train services resumed at around 7.50am.
