THE SPECTRE of large-scale redundancies at Equiniti, formerly LloydsTSB Registrars, has been raised again by a staff member who claimed more jobs could be axed.
The man, who asked not to be named, said he believed 50 people had already lost their jobs from offices in Durrington and in Lancing, and the total may increase.

Ann Barlow, Worthing Council's cabinet member for regeneration, said she had not heard anything about redundancies and would be "disappointed" if they were being made without notifying the council.

An Equiniti spokesman refused to confirm or deny whether any staff had lost their jobs and said "We have given a statement. We are not adding to it. I'm not confirming anything."

That statement, reported in the Herald on August 7, said: "This is a continuation of plans we announced on April 9 of this year.

"We have kept our staff fully informed of progress and this is simply the next stage of the process.

"We are now talking with our staff regarding their individual situations.

"We consider this a sensitive matter, our primary concern is the wellbeing of our staff."
