ORGANISERS of the brand-new St Barnabas "Night to Remember" summer solstice walk were delighted to register their 1,000th participant and declare the event sold-out.
But more volunteer marshals are still urgently needed for the event.
Tanya Leedham, from the hospice's events team, said: "We are absolutely delighted to have registered 1,000 ladies to walk the 13-mile route on Saturday, June 21, at midnight.
"It will be an amazing sight to see so many people supporting the hospice and we are overwhelmed by the tremendous support we have had for our first ever Night to Remember walk."
As the route goes through residential areas, a substantial number of volunteers will be needed to ensure walkers stay on the correct route and stay safe.
Marshals will be located in pairs along the route.
Willing volunteers will be needed from 11pm for a briefing and to get into position along the route, through until about 5am on Sunday morning.
The walk starts and finishes at Worthing Leisure Centre and is supported by Worthing Borough Council, Splash FM, Sheactive, MGM Assurance and Mirage Beauty Treatments.
