Bognor’s Proms in the Park is on

SINGING in the Rain will definitely not be on the programme when Proms in the Park finally takes place in Bognor Regis.

The town council has re-arranged the free annual event in Hotham Park to this Saturday (July 21).

Wet weather forced it to be postponed from its usual date in June.

The Bognor Regis Concert Band and its repertoire of patriotic music on the bandstand will stay the same.

Town council head of street scene and leisure Sue Holmes said: “The evening begins at 7.30pm and the first half of the programme includes pieces by John Williams, Edward Elgar’s Nimrod from the Enigma Variations as well as highlights from the Jersey Boys.

“The second half will provide the annual favourites, including Pomp and Circumstance March No 1, Jersualem and, of course, Sussex by the Sea.”

Flags and programmes will be available on the night. The concert is sponsored by Autumn Lodge.
