EVENTS in Bognor Regis could benefit from a publicity boost.

Arun District Council is offering local groups an extra chance to promote activities over the summer.

The council has identified prime sites on their land where event organisers and tourism promoters can use roadside banners.

Damon Parkinson, trustee and director of Bognor’s Rox Music and Arts, welcomed the new banner sites, saying: “These sites will be a valuable lifeline for community events because they will provide organisers with a professional-looking, streamlined approach to publicity.

“I hope their locations across the district will also encourage people to explore parts of Arun and in turn provide a boost to the local economy.”

Sites available include Aldwick’s West Park and, in Felpham, spots at Felpham Way, King George V Playing Fields and Flansham Lane.

Arun’s cabinet member responsible for tourism, Paul Dendle, said: “There are so many fantastic events going on in the Arun district each week. This is just one of the ways the council can help support event organisers, by giving them an extra platform for publicity.

“It is also a great way of helping to keep members of the public informed about what is happening.”
