THE HOTTEST new station to hit the airwaves is now broadcasting from the Chichester Observer offices.

Chi FM will be keeping the city’s residents entertained throughout December, offering music, news, travel updates and up-to-the-minute parking information on 87.9FM.

Breakfast host and producer Kevin King, whose company 2KL Media Productions is behind the pop-up radio station, said it had already got off to a flying festive start.

“We have had lots of lovely feedback from listeners,” he said from the tinsel-bedecked studio under the eaves at the newspaper’s office.

“It’s great to be playing people’s requests and getting a great response. There are also a huge amount of people discovering us online.”

Throughout the month, there will be weather updates for the city, sponsored by Chichester Tyre & Brake Centre, plus plenty of special guests: singers, songwriters, bands, choral groups, actors, poets, charities and lots more.

It’s your station, so we want you to get involved... fill in the request form below to let us know your favourite tunes and we’ll get them on the radio. Just drop off your form to the Observer offices at Unicorn House, 8 Eastgate Square, Chichester PO19 1JN, or post them to the same address, or you can ring the studio directly on 01243 534169.

The station’s launch generated plenty of attention on the Chichester Observer’s website at
www.chichester.co.uk

“There is an urgent need for an alternative to the awful Spirit FM and excruciating BBC local radio,” wrote one user, Cressers.

Tune in to Chi FM 24 hours a day at 87.9FM throughout the whole of December.
