You can go and figure out racing at Fontwell
FONTWELL PARK stages its Figure of Eight Race Day this Sunday to celebrate its unique layout and 888sport's sponsorship of the new grandstand.
And the Racing for Change initiative has teamed up with the course to offer punters an up-close-and-personal experience of the sport.
Visitors can meet the stars of the show in a 'meet the racehorse' event at which they will come face-to-face with horses in their stable, hear from a jockey how it feels to ride one of the equine athletes and see how staff make a raceday happen.
There'll also be tips from the top as to how best to pick a winner.
Kids can learn how to ride a racehorse on a mechanical racehorse used by jockeys themselves.
And there will be a live equine anatomy demonstration, showing how the muscles and skeletal system of a champion racehorse work.
Fontwell's usual family race day attractions will also be on offer, including fairground rides and a penalty shootout.
An eight-race card begins at 1.40pm.
See a racing preview and tips at www.bognor.co.uk on Saturday.
