VIDEO: Intrinsic wins as Glorious Goodwood comes to end

Glorious Goodwood is always a highlight of the West Sussex sporting calendar and 2014 was no different.

The tenth day of our gallop through the year’s top sporting occasions remembers the 32 Red Cup - better known as the Stewards’ Cup - which helped bring the festival to a rousing end.

It was a popular victory in the famous cavalry charge of a race for Goodwood favourite Richard Hughes on the Robert Cowell-trained Intrinsic.

The build-up to the race had been dominated by controversy of the dropping of the ‘Stewards’ Cup’ name from the main title of the race, but on the day it was as good a contest as ever, unhindered by talk of what it was called.
