Scoring for fun is name of the game for Colts

We have goals galore to report in this week's round-up from the youth football scene.

UNDER-16

Highdown Saints B 0 Felpham Colts 9

Felpham cruised to victory in this first-round cup tie. Colts took the lead inside five minutes as Will Green turned in Brad Lambert's cross. Green turned provider for Peter Nicholls to run on to and score from a narrow angle.

Nicholls' throw caught out the defence for Lambert to score. Then Lambert crossed for Green to get his second, with Green completing his hat-trick soon after.

Lambert grabbed his second and was unlucky not to complete his hat-trick when a free-kick hit the bar. Luke Miller hit the post.

Harry Riseborough and Green with a fourth made it 8-0 before the move of the match lead to the ninth. Ewan Phillips' cross-field ball picked out Calvin Negus on the left and his cross was met by Ryan Jones, who headed in his first for the club.

Northchapel 10 Worthing Town Youth 0

Playing in the cup, Northchapel opened the scoring 20 minutes in with a well-taken goal by striker Archie Challen.

NC were stronger in all areas of the pitch and ended the first half 5-0 up and went on to score another five in the second half.

Man of the match was striker Nathan Przpiorka. Goals came from Challen (4), Banting (3), Merritt-Smith (2) and Biggs.

Predators 3 Rustington Otters 6

Predators crashed out of the Challenge cup in an exciting game against Rustington.

Predators were 1-0 up in the first minute thanks to a nice Matty Robinson goal.

Rustington equalised and went ahead on the half-hour. Predators hit back after half-time when Robinson netted again.

Rustington made it 4-2 but Ollie Byrne reduced the deficit with a well-taken goal.

Rustington added another two quick goals, but Predators keeper Drew Miles nearly added a fourth when he came up for a corner, only to see his effort rebound off the bar. Man of the match was Robinson.

UNDER-15

Pagham Youth 5 Ferring Youth 1

Pagham took the lead after 15 minutes when Curtis Poole scored. Davi Guimaraes made it 2-0.

Ferring were awarded a free-kick outside the area and it was dispatched in style to cut the lead down to 2-1, but on the stroke of half-time Pagham scored again through Curtis Poole.

In the second half, Poole completed his hat-trick from the spot. With ten minutes to go, Pagham were awarded a second penalty which was well-saved.

In the final minutes, Karl Matthews got on the scoresheet after being put through one-on-one.

Regis 2000 1 Lancing Rangers 3

This was a classic game of two halves with Regis on top in the first and Lancing the second.

The home side played excellent football in the first period. Midway through the half, a fluent build-up involving Jordan Charles, Jack Parham and Johan Vandriel saw Dan Watson open the scoring with a clinical finish.

The Lancing keeper then produced three good saves to deny Regis.

The second half was different as Regis were not as sharp or fluent. Lancing, to their credit, took advantage and soon scored twice, both following sloppy play from the home side.

Regis briefly rallied and Michael Charman had two great efforts, the second hitting the bar. Lancing hit a third, late on to secure the points.

UNDER-14

Summerley Park Rangers 6 Rustington Otters 2

Summerley started slowly and were punished with a Rustington goal on three minutes.

They worked their way back into it and a well-taken B Smith goal levelled the score on 17 minutes.

Summerley kept the pressure on and Rafferty put them 2-1 up.

With the wind behind them in the second half, Summerley struck goals from Hand, Farndell and V Smith.

Rustington pulled a goal back when Pierce latched on to a through-ball and lobbed Sargeant in Summerley's goal.

It took a man-of-the-match performance from Worsley to prevent him scoring more. Mepham added a further goal for Summerley.

Midhurst & Easebourne 1 Highdown Saints B 2

Sam Cain opened the scoring on ten minutes to give the home team the lead.

Midhurst gave away a penalty in the last few minutes of the first half. Highdown converted it.

Highdown came out the stronger in the second half and scored a second.

Midhurst rallied for the last 20 minutes but couldn't find an equaliser.

Worthing Minors 2 Pagham Youth 3

Pagham took the lead on 15 minutes when Misslebrook volleyed home from Urbanczyk's cross.

Worthing came back strongly with two quick goals to lead at half-time.

In the second half, Cleall was fouled 30 yards out and up stepped Baker to give the Worthing keeper no chance.

Pagham had more chances before man of the match Misslebrook hit the winner in the last minute.

PAGHAM: Hambidge, Lane, Rodway, Paul, Oliver, Baker, Misslebrook, Cleall, Conlon, Knight, Urbanczyk.

Predators 2 Regis 1

Predators never got their passing going and were lucky to come away with the three points.

Jack Furlong converted Louis Josling's pinpoint corner. Stubbs, Hillier, Josling, Furlong all went close to making the gap bigger.

As half-time neared, Regis had a free kick about 20 yards out and, wind-assisted, the ball flew over Kieran Williams and in.

Four minutes from time, Furlong broke clear and beat the keeper to make it 2-1.

In injury time, Regis were awarded a penalty. Kyle Vinesome made a fantastic save but the referee ruled he had moved off his line. Regis scored from the rebound but the referee was in the process of blowing his whistle. They missed the second retake, which led to uproar.

Jack Harding was man of the match.

UNDER-13

Selsey Seals 0 Chichester City Colts A 2

The Colts made it two straight wins with this solid victory.

Thomas Smith went close to opening the scoring early on and the Colts dominated the half. Charlie Reedman and Smith again nearly secured the lead before an unlucky own goal from a dangerous Jack Graham corner gave Chichester a half-time lead.

The hosts gave the Colts a few scares, including hitting the bar. But Alex Jolley scored in the final ten minutes.

Faulkner, Stremes, Smyth, Reedman and Herrington defended well as a unit.

CHICHESTER: Faulkner, Stremes, Smyth, Reedman, Herrington, Smith, Trinder, Gilyead, Ruddick, Graham, Shishkov, Cheeseman, Jolley.

UNDER-11

Predators 2 Worthing Minors 3

Worthing had the early pressure but Predators took control with a goal from Remnant. Soon it was 2-0 with a great goal from Jude Blackman.

Worthing scored with a long-range shot just before the break and came out with renewed faith, which made for a great spectacle.

Worthing levelled and with only a few minutes left, they were awarded a penalty for handball, which they scored. Mitchell was Predators man of the match.

UNDER-TEN

Felpham Colts 1 Barnham A 2

Barnham applied the early pressure with Higgins-Pearce crashing a free-kick against the bar, but Felpham took the lead with a shot from outside the area.

Barnham hit back just before half-time through Hobbs.

Cook scored the winner for Barnham midway through the second half. Jack Saunders was their man of the match.

BARNHAM: Clark, Perry, Higgins -Pearce, Ursell, Cook , Saunders, Davidson, Hobbs, Hassell.

Midhurst & Easebourne Utd 3 Chichester City Colts 0

Midhurst made it three wins in a row.

The visitors were on top for much of the first half but great saves from Luke Trewin and strong defending from Connor Jefferies and Ryan Hyde kept it level.

A swift counter-attack gave Larry Moir the chance to put Midhurst ahead with a well-struck shot.

Ollie Georgiou made it two before half-time with a super strike after Chichester were denied by the bar.

In the second half, Connor Jefferies sealed the game with a beautifully-controlled strike from the left.

MIDHURST: Trewin, Jefferies, Hyde, Lambert, Coulson, Moir, Georgiou, Goodman.
