Chichester Racquets & Fitness Club hosted a ten-and-under county tour event.

This grade-five tournament was the latest in a series of open junior tennis tournaments staged at the club during the summer.

The boys’ singles event was run using a compass draw format of eight players. Each match comprised two short sets to four games with a match tie-break if necessary.

The bronze medal was won by Ben Eaton (Newbury Tennis Club), who beat Aaron Butcher (Portsmouth Tennis Academy) 0-4, 5-4 (10-7) in a highly-entertaining match.

In the final, Henry Knapton (Comptons Tennis Club) won the gold medal, defeating Finlay Edwards (Guilford Tennis Academy) 5-3, 5-3.

Tournament referee Peter Cook said: “Once again, the standard of tennis was excellent – we were treated to some fantastic matches.”
