NINE organisations have shared the proceeds of their third annual boxing dinner show held in Chichester.
The event was put together by St Gerards Boxing Club and the Rotary Club of Chichester Priory and was held at Chichester College in January.
It raised a whopping £8,700 and the beneficiaries attended the boxing club HQ - Swanfield Community Centre - to receive their cheques from Rotary Club president Mike Dennett.
Thanks went to the event’s three major sponsors - Phil Haddow Electrical, Chiverton and Seaward Property.
Cheques went to 461 Squadron ATC for band equipment and a trip to Switzerland; Lavant Valley Scout Group for a start-up grant for new group; the Six Villages Academy for Duke of Edinburgh’s award scheme work; the 12th Chichester Scouts for camping gear; Chichester Baptist Church Youth Club towards a summer camp; the 5th Chichester Scouts for a new bike rack; the 8th Chichester Scouts to pay for new tents; Chichester Boys’ Club for running costs and equipment and, finally, to St Gerards themselves, also funding running costs and equipment.
