In glorious sunshine, Chichester Racquets & Fitness Club staged its latest one-day junior tennis competition, a 12-and-under boys’ tournament.
The event attracted 13 entries and was played using a compass draw format, which meant there were 22 matches played.
In a gripping final Julian Standish beat Calum Loeffen Ames 4-1, 5-4.
All competitors received a certificate of achievement and an overgrip. Gold and silver medals were awarded to the winner and runner-up.
Tournament organiser and club coach Peter Cook, was full of praise for the competitors. For many of them it was their first tournament.
He said: “We watched some fantastic tennis matches. There was a great atmosphere with some excellent support from the spectators.”
