Moore strikes gold in Sussex indoor championships

Jamie Moore struck gold in the Sussex Indoor Athletics Championships at the Sutton Arena.

He began the day with a consistent series of long jumps and a best of 5.76m, good enough to earn first place.

The 18-year-old’s next event was the 60m hurdles, which he entered to gain experience for his decathlon training. He was delighted to take second place and the silver medal.

His specialist event, the pole vault, was his final event of the day and he vaulted well to a height of 3.90m to take gold and end a very satisfactory day of competition.

Moore attends The Regis School and lives in Rose Green.
