In-form runner Baker is at it again

AFTER his stunning virtuoso performance two weeks previously in the Chichester Half Marathon, James Baker travelled to the West Country the following weekend to defend his title in the category A 15.1 miles fell race at Minhead known as the Exmoor Stagger.

The previous week’s climb to the top of the Trundle was just the preparation for the Exmoor race, which included a climb to the top of Dunkery Beacon, the highest point in the Exmoor National Park.

This did not stop the Chichester athlete from adding to his collection of race wins to finish in 1-56-05, one of only two runners in the field to break the two-hour barrier.

Having passed the milestone of 500 race wins over all distances several months ago, Baker shows no sign of slowing down and still poses a threat in races from 1,500 metres to the marathon.
