THE kids’ summer holidays are almost over - but there’s still just time to enjoy one last adventure on the water.

The Observer has teamed up with Fluid Adventures to offer four prizes of free kayaking taster sessions on the Chichester Canal.

Fluid have been busy on the canal for much of the holidays providing hour-long taster sessions as an introduction to paddling for youngsters aged eight and upwards.

These sessions have proved popular with children, as you’d expect - but also ideal for parents looking for affordable and fun ways of keeping their young ones amused throughout the long break from school.

Fluid Adventures’ sessions are ideal for anyone looking to try kayaking or canoeing for the first time.

Their paddling taster sessions are all with a fully-qualified and experienced instructor, who shares a variety of paddling techniques as well as hints and tips to help each participant get the most out of their experience.

For each taster session, there is a maximum of six people to ensure everyone can receive dedicated support and tuition from their coach.

Pre-booking a taster session is recommended to avoid disappointment but passers-by are also welcome to join in the fun if there is availability.

For those looking for more time on the water, the team have been running week-long courses of morning classes throughout August.

Sessions are designed around having fun and include a variety of games and activities to make your experience enjoyable and to improve your abilities as a paddler.

If you are interested in attempting your BCU 1 award, Fluid Adventures can arrange to assess you.
