GALLERY: Brownlees and Dame Kelly compete in Petworth

Three Olympic heroes gave local folk a chance to compete alongside them when the Brownlee Tri South came to Petworth Park.

The event, run by triathlon kings Alistair and Jonny Brownlee, attracted a field of hundreds to the National Trust site last Sunday.

The swimming leg of the triathlon had to be cancelled but that didn’t matter as people of various ages and abilities got to grips with that was effectively a duathlon - running and cycling in beautiful surroundings.

See a report and pictures from the day in the Observer - out on Thursday - but for now, enjoy our photographer Louise Adams’ pictures that capture the great spirit in which the event was held.
