The Gym Academy, based at Westgate Leisure in Chichester, have had a great finish to the end of their summer competitive season and are celebrating some fantastic results over the past few months.
The women’s artistic 2014 south-east regional grades held at the Guildford Spectrum saw 11 of the clubs gymnasts looking focused and polished. For some it was their first time competing in this rank of competition.
In their relevant level and ages, Lottie Gorringe, Signe Zaikovskai, Isabelle Brydon, Liana Dorney, Georgia Dorney, Lily Coleman-head Jessica Jameson and Ellie Haxton all achieved pass grades with Scarlett Woodall-Jones, Georgie Keynes and Jessica Lowe passing with distinctions.
The Gym Academy have not only excelled at women’s artistic gymnastics over recent months, but also locally at Chichester’s invitational four-piece competition. The club took 22 gymnasts and came away with a haul of 35 medals.
In June there was a maiden visit to the Fareham four-piece club invitational which was TGA’s largest turnout so far. It was a strong field but the 28 gymnasts held their own and were thrilled to return heavily laden with 40 medals.
This was a great achievement as a number of the club’s new gymnasts were on the scene, representing TGA for the first time and others completely new to competition within gymnastics.
All the club’s recreational gymnasts are now preparing for club’s summer display on July 19 and 21, which will allow them to show off their skills to family and friends.
