Chichester Falcons Softball Club were forced to settle for second place following a frantic and fast-paced competition in Brighton.

The event, which was hosted by Brighton Beachcombers at the Falmer Campus, featured several teams from across the country.

Falcons dispatched both Portsmouth University and High Voltage but were beaten by Bean Machine of London as the three game round-robin competition was brought to a close.

Chichester were made up of seasoned players along with a sprinkling of rookies.

University of Chichester player, Shannon McCarthy, made her mark on debut with two home runs, while junior Falcon Bronte Harvey showed maturity beyond her years as team catcher in the competition.

Some fine performances earned them a spot in the final, where they met The Floos.
