SEVENTEEN Dragonflyers trampolinists were among around 300 competitors taking part in a regional competition in Southampton - and returned with 19 medals.

Taylor Cleall took gold in the NDP three over-13 girls’ category with Alice Chapman finishing fifth. Chapman went on to win the over-13 girls’ F event with Jess Lyne close behind in third and Nicole Bergmann sixth.

The over-13 girls’ team of Cleall, Chapman, Lyne and Bergmann went on to take gold. Lyne also finished with a bronze in the NDP four ladies’ group.

The under-14 girls’ NDP six team pulled out stunning routines taking gold, silver and sixth position individually and team gold in the form of Anya Johnstone, Ellie Morton and Izzy Hauxwell.

Florance Dempster took silver in the 17-plus ladies NDP six while Lee Burgess finished sixth in the men’s NDP six and second in the men’s D event.

Libby Morton, who is nine, came an amazing fourth in the under-14 NDP three event and sixth in the under-13 F girls’ section while sister Ellie finished with a bronze in the ladies’ D competition with her accurate smooth routines.

Jacqui Denton took silver in the ladies’ G grade, Natalie Pullen gained fourth in the ladies’ E category, Toby Smith, who is nine, took silver in the under-13 boys’ G with Finlay in sixth place. Beth Moore finished the day with a silver in the under-15 girls’ G.

It was a hugely successful day with ten gold, six silver and three bronze achieved.

With one of the country’s top international judges commenting on how well the Dragonflyers are performing and the team spirit shown by all performers, the club’s coaches are extremely proud.

Libby Morton came first in-age at NDP three, Izzy hauxwell was third in-age at NDP six, while Hauxwell, Johnstone and Dempster are ranked in the top two in the region.

With lots of regional and national action to come for the youngsters, the club look forward to a bright future.
