WITH just under a month to go before the first race, entries are coming in thick and fast for the 2014 Corporate Challenge road race series.

Now in its 23rd year, the event provides an opportunity for experienced runners and beginners alike to test themselves over a shorter but faster distance than usual around the city centre.

Seniors, split into two races to minimise lapping, run a four-lap course totalling 4,500m which can present as much of a challenge as a longer distance requiring accurate pace judgement.

The schools’ races start with Year 5 and 6 children running 1,400m and continue with the secondary age groups over 2,100 or 2,800m.

This year’s race nights are February 26, March 12 and March 26.

Team and individual entries are welcomed and forms can be obtained from the Chichester Runners noticeboard in the foyer of Westgate Leisure or from www.chichester-corporate-challenge.org.uk

Advance entries are preferred as organisers do not want to disappoint runners with ‘race-full signs on the night.
