MEMBERS of Chichester Cormorants competed over two evenings at Arun Leisure Centre for their annual club championships.
This year the event was a licensed meet enabling the swimmers to achieve official county qualifying times.
Swimmers competed in individual medley, breaststroke, freestyle, backstroke and butterfly and everyone – from the youngest swimmer to the oldest – made a huge effort, backed by great support.
There were 258 personal bests, 36 swimmers beat existing club records and 22 new club records were set. There were 19 county championship qualifying times achieved.
The event could not have been held without the help of 36 volunteers over the two evenings, from the official referee to the refreshment providers.
