Chichester trio take England to within one win of Grand Slam

ENGLAND under-20s’ Chichester trio all did their bit again as they racked up a 56-8 win over Scotland to move within one win of the Grand Slam - like their senior counterparts.

Harlequins hooker and ex-Chichester RFC colt Rob Buchanan was among the try scorers and he, Kieran Low and Charlie Matthews, the latter two having once played together at Oaklands Park, ensured

England outscrummaged Scotland, setting the foundations for success.

The only negative was that Low damaged ankle ligaments, was stretchered off and will be out for a while.

Rob Hunter’s men now head into tomorrow’s match against Ireland in Athlone knowing a win will secure them a clean sweep for the first time since 2008.

Buchananwent over just before the break, showing great strength to push over the line and make the score 35-3 at half-time.

Five minutes into the second half when London Irish flanker Low went down with his ankle injury.

Matthews set up the final try for England.

After the Six Nations ends, England’s focus turns to the Under-20 World Cup in Verona in June.
