Chichester Racquets & Fitness Club hosted a ten-and-under green-ball county tour tennis event.

The grade-five tournament was the final competition in a series of junior ones staged at the club during the summer season.

This boys’ singles was organised using a compass draw format of eight players. Each match comprised two short sets to four games, with a match tie-break where necessary.

The bronze medal was won by Joe Eales (Portsmouth), who beat Daniel Fielding (Legends Tennis Academy) 5-3, 4-2. Callum Harvey (Pavilion & Avenue Tennis Club) won gold by defeating silver winner Robert Muir 4-2, 4-0.

Tournament referee Peter Cook said: “We had wonderful weather conditions for this event, which made for a really enjoyable experience for competitors and spectators alike. We were treated to some fantastic tennis matches of a really high standard.”
