Several Chichester Runners & AC athletes competed at the Sussex track and field championships at Brighton.
Alyssa White (U17) took silver in the 100m recording a season’s best of 12.50sec. She also posted a winning time of 25.49 in the 200m heats, before going on to convincingly win gold in the final.
Rachel Laurie (U17) ran a well-controlled 42.77sec PB for fourth spot in the 300m final, and displayed a magnificent fighting performance in the 200m final to deservedly win the bronze medal.
Making their county debuts, U15s Rosie Compton and Emily Russell ran 14.77 and 14.86sec respectively in the heats of the 100m.
It was personal bests all the way for 12-year-old Fleur Hollyer (U13) competing in the girls’ minithon – she high-jumped 1.21m, recorded 4.58m in the shot putt, and ran 22.7sec for the 150m.
