Chichester Netball Club are thriving at junior and adult level.

The Chichester Reds adult team compete in the Portsmouth League and have had a fantastic season.

They finished second in their division and are looking forward to an excellent summer-league season.

Team captain Claire Cawte and team-mate Amy Kyffin run a junior netball club to help develop young players.

Sessions run during the autumn and spring school terms at the Bishop Luffa School sports hall. There are three sessions for three different age groups – 5pm to 6pm for Years 3 to 6, 6pm to 7pm is for Years 7 to 9 and 7pm to 8pm is Year 10 to sixth formers.

The club enter three teams into the Portsmouth Junior League.

The under-12, under-14 and under-16s have been very successful in the league and they are looking to enter a team of each age group into the summer league.

The club are meeting Thursdays from today until March 29. They will be selecting teams and welcome new players, from beginners to very able netball players. The club also run trips to FIAT Superleague matches.

Last weekend, ten girls and their coaches went to watch Surrey Storm play Yorkshire Jets at Surrey Sports Park.

The girls had a fantastic time and the level of netball was excellent. The girls will have learned a lot through watching high-level players.
