It's as-you-were at Aldwick

At Aldwick Cricket Club's annual meeting, almost without exception, club members decided to reward 2009's club officials with the same honour for the 2010 season.

That meant John Young and Keelan Belcher retained the positions of Saturday first XI league captain and vice-captain respectively.

The experienced Dave Robinson continues as the seconds' captain but now has Dan Cox as his right-hand man.

For the Sunday teams, captain Peter Craddock and vice-captain Nathan Belcher continue for the firsts, while Ryan Purvis carries on as captain for the Aldwick Acorns in their second season aided by Richard Galvin as his second-in-command.

In other roles, John Heredge continues as president, Mick Fredericks is again treasurer, and Chris Redman as vice-chairman remains deputy to chairman Jim Smith.

Smith remains at the heart of the club – as demonstrated by his other roles as secretary, colts co-ordinator, league representative, club welfare officer, umpire and fixture secretary.

Ian Guppy was elected as the club webmaster and with his customary

enthusiasm has already set up a new website for the club www.aldwickcricketclub.co.uk

On Saturdays, Aldwick play in the West Sussex Invitation League and the two Sunday teams play friendlies.

Indoor nets have started already at Game, Set & Match in Quarry Lane,

Chichester.

There is a small charge but this includes a bowling machine and qualified coaches in attendance.

Aldwick always welcomes new players and members, so if you fancy joining a well-run, friendly club and would like to attend nets or get involved, contact Jim Smith on 01243 267041 or jamesjmb@aol.com
