GOODWOOD stages its penultimate flat racing of the season next Wednesday.

The highlight of the seven-race card will be the Greene King Foundation Stakes, a listed race, over a mile and two furlongs at 3.40pm.

It was won last year by the Roger Charlton-trained Primevere, ridden by James Doyle.

Next week’s meeting begins at 2pm with the British Stallion Studs EBF Maiden Stakes.

Other contests are the Bibendum EBF Maiden Stakes, the Santa Maria Foodservice Stakes, the Hildon Natural Mineral Water Stakes, the 3663 Inspired By You Stakes and the Merbury Catering Consultants Apprentice Stakes.

The meeting could see Richard Hughes close in on the title of Goodwood’s top jockey for 2013.

The Downs specialists has already notched 12 winners there this season – four more than closest rival Ryan Moore. The race to be the track’s top trainer is virtually over already, with Richard Hannon having had 16 winners to his name so far.

See this website on Tuesday for a preview and tips for the meeting.
