Pompey have moved to solve their goalkeeping crisis by signing Aaron McCarey.

The 23-year-old has arrived on a month’s loan from Wolves and will go straight into the side for Saturday’s trip to Bristol Rovers.

McCarey, who has made seven first-team appearances for the Championship side, has previously spent time on loan at Walsall and York.

Pompey currently have Paul Jones (knee), Brian Murphy (groin) and Michael Poke (shoulder) out through injury, leaving Academy keeper Alex Bass as their only other option.
