More than 2,000 Pompey season tickets have been sold in the past eight days as the feel-good factor continues to grip Fratton Park.

Fans have been flocking to snap up Blues seats as the club’s early bird offer comes to a close.

To date, more than 9,000 tickets have been sold ahead of Saturday’s deadline, with supporters taking advantage of a price freeze.

That has put Pompey on target to beat the impressive 10,660 season-tickets sales recorded last year.

The recent surge has inevitably been influenced by an end-of-month pay day and the march towards the start of the new campaign in League Two.

Regardless, the figures reflect impressively on the Blues, who averaged 15,460 fans at Fratton Park last term.

They have also surpassed the 8,080 season-ticket tally in the 2012-13 League One campaign.

To help cope with current demand, boss Andy Awford himself will be working in the Pompey ticket office tonight from 5-7pm.

The Fanfunding team from Tifosy will also be on hand to take off-line pledges for the Academy as the club seeks to raise £250,000 by the start of the season.

They have currently passed the £113,000 stage as it closes in on the half-way mark.

The ticket office will also be open on Saturday from 10am, with the early bird offer coming to a close at the end of that day’s trading.

Meanwhile, Pompey’s new away kit is scheduled to be unveiled on Friday, July 18.

The launch will be held at the club shop from 4.30-5.30pm, with players taking part in an autograph session.

Nelson and Mary Rose are also to be present for the event, with fans able to buy the new shirts on the day.

The home kit is to be revealed on August 4, while the third strip is scheduled for launch later that month.
