Former Pompey loan star Chris Maguire has signed for Sheffield Wednesday for an undisclosed fee.
Maguire, 23, has penned a three-year deal with the Owls after Derby County put him up for sale at the start of the summer.
The Scotland striker joined Pompey on loan in January.
During his short spell at Fratton Park he scored three goals – including a belter in the south coast derby draw at St Mary’s – and became a favourite with the fans.
Blues boss Michael Appleton had initially hoped to bring Maguire back to the south coast on a permanent deal this summer.
But he quickly admitted defeat in that bid as the on-going financial problems at Fratton Park priced him out of the race.
