The Rocks are likely to show off at least three new faces in their opening friendly at Selsey tonight.

Goalkeeper Mark Zawadski, signed to replace Craig Stoner following his retirement at the end of last season, will make his debut against Adam Hinshelwood’s team at the High Street Ground.

And Rocks manager Jamie Howell - Hinshelwood’s brother-in-law - is likely to field two players he is looking at with a view to signing them - right-back Rob Evans from Moneyfields and ex-Lewes forward Aaron Hopkinson.

Not available are Ben Johnson and Stuart Axten, who are not yet 100 per cent after long-term injuries, Daryl Wollers, who is awaiting a groin operation, and Terry Dodd, who is away. Lewis Stockford has new work commitments that will rule him out for the near future.

The Rocks are also likely to put a number of their youth-team squad on the bench against a Sussex League first-division side with whom they have close links.

Howell said: “After a couple of weeks of training, we’re looking forward to getting our first game in.”
